LINKS GALORE

Here are some links that have come to us from the National Quilt Guild website that may be of interest.  Please note that Spring Valley Quilt Guild does in no way endorse any of these organizations and members should conduct their own verification before making purchases or supplying any information to these folks.

Mary Dumelle has shared a link to this really great page which lists some excellent quilt links.  Patterns, history, and many other resources should be of interest to our quilters.  You can reach it here:

This is a link to the contest winners at the recent Quilt Expo in Wisconsin.  This listing of the quilts is arranged by category:

Thanks to Linda L for advising us of this great Australian web site for Online Quilt Magazine.  First is a link to their main page for which they solicit subscriptions:

However, this is a link to a free version that you can view on your computer:

You will find lots of patterns and ideas from Down Under where quilting is every bit as popular as it is in the U.S.

There is a multitude of quilt blocks to be found on this web site.  They just ask that no commercial use be made of their patterns.  Details are expressed one each pattern page.  In addition to giving the pattern and instructions, they show actual quilts made from the patterns as well.  Turn your speakers down, they have a lot of background music on the site--some good, some kind of annoying.  The link is:

This site has a lot of advertising but also lots of good information and quilt patterns. They are arranged more by type of pattern rather than alphabetically, but lots of interesting stuff here:

These folks sell a three-piece portable quilt display frame in a carrying case.  You can watch a video at their website http://www.craftgard.com to see how easy it is to set up.  The current price is $139 plus $25 shipping and handling.

Thousand of Bolts (And just one nut).  A funny name for a serious fabric vendor.  Their prices are very reasonable and their selection is huge.  For instance they have virtually hundreds of choices for quilt back material in everything from batik to flannel.  Their service is excellent as well as their prices.  Testimony from Bob who says he has been buying from them for five years with zero disappointments.  Be prepared to spend some time looking at their extensive web site.  It is an enjoyable experience and you don't have to bend and stoop to see things.  If you register they have a feature that lets you drag and drop your choices to compare them on one page before buying.

They are located in eastern Ohio and shipping time is surprisingly good.

Quilt Trails of Western North Carolina--an interesting web site regarding barn sign quilts and driving trails in that area of the country.
