NOVEMBER MEETING PHOTOS

Despite the nasty weather there was plenty of sunshine in the Library for our November meeting. Our guest was folk artist and toile painter Anna Howard of Indianapolis who displayed a selection of seasonal items.  Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas creations were featured. A fine arts painter since the 1940s, Anna took up toile painting when the chemicals used in oil painting became unhealthful for her. Her exacting artisty is the result displayed here.
SHOW AND TELL

Optical Delusion

This quilt actually is all straight lines, but by cleverly combining both 54-40 and churn dash blocks, circles appear throughout the quilt.  The design was recently featured on a Fons & Porter show.

Cute little table lamp with shade using fusibles and the wine glass base with a battery operated "flame."

An interesting series of fabrics which reproduce Christmas wrapping paper are featured in this quilt.

Refreshments went to gourmet status this  month thanks to Barb and Carol who supplied a variety of tea time treats including Banbury, lemon, chocolate, and butterscotch tarts along with a selection of hot teas.  Not as grand as Downton Abbey, but close for sure.
